The Cookery Nook was born from the initiative and values of the Sisters of Mercy, who sought meaningful employment opportunities for disadvantaged people. We have 20 years’ experience in providing employment, training and professional development opportunities for people with a disability.
Our unique integrated work environment enables people who may experience barriers to engage in open workplace to pursue fulfilling employment and build individual skills.
Today, the Cookery Nook is a not for profit social enterprise supporting Mercy Community Services (MCS) Disability Services. All Cookery Nook profits go towards MCS Disability Services to assist them in providing support to people with intellectual disabilities. Our aim is to develop an ecosystem of social ventures which will provide employment opportunities, vocational training and community participation to those who need it most.
